Truth Time Thursday - “Aliens Exist”
Truth Time Thursday is a series where every Thursday I’m going to look into the origins of a Truth Tee - how it came to be, and maybe a little bit about what it means, or a story that relates to it.
The Truth Is…Aliens Exist
The Aliens Exist Truth Tee was among the first I ever created when I began working on The Truth Is… shop. I’ve always been borderline obsessed with aliens (and outer space, for that matter), and I wanted to wear this tee more than any of the others in our starting collection of launch tees. And I do wear it. I opted to get mine in the original coloring - ash gray tee with green text, and black text for the “truth is…” part. Aliens and green go together like two other things that are commonly grouped together, ya know?
Funny story. Last semester I was walking the campus of Penn State, I think on my way from class to CVS. I was wearing my “Aliens Exist” Truth Tee and some guy stopped me.
“Is that true?” he asked me.
At first I had no idea what he was talking about, but then I remembered I was wearing the t-shirt.
“I think so…” was my reply. He told me he really liked the shirt, and I thanked him. When I think of the ultimate vision for The Truth Is… tees, it’s something like this exchange - people stopping each other, discussing their “truth”s and what have you. It was a pretty cool experience for me.
And for the record, yes I do believe aliens exist. And my desktop background has been the same awesome outer space nebula picture for at least two or three years.
